In a statement released via his Twitter account, Musk detailed the new measures, revealing that verified accounts will now be limited to viewing 6,000 posts per day. Unverified accounts, on the other hand, will be restricted to 600 posts per day, with newly registered unverified accounts being further restricted to just 300 daily posts.

“To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits: – Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day – Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day – New unverified accounts to 300/day,” Musk tweeted.

The new measures were announced in the wake of a global outage affecting the social media platform, disrupting access for thousands of users worldwide.

Musk’s announcement came as a response to the outage which reportedly impacted more than 7,000 users according to data from the outage monitor website ‘Down Detector’. This latest incident underscores the scale of the challenges Twitter faces in maintaining its global platform and ensuring the integrity of its user data.
