The President-elect Bola Tinubu has arrived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to inaugurate some of the projects executed by Nyesom Wike, the state governor.
Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and magistrate court building in Port Harcourt.
The Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover is a significant infrastructure project that is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve transportation in the area. The magistrate court building is also an essential project that will enhance the administration of justice in the state.
Tinubu was received on Wednesday at the airport by Governor Nyesome Wike and several government officials. Members of the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen, and government appointees were also in Wike’s entourage.
Security personnel were stationed at the airport to control the crowd and allow the governor’s supporters into the tarmac area.
Later in the evening, Tinubu will be hosted at a state banquet, where he interacted with government officials and other dignitaries.
TalkGlitz Media had reported that Wike had declared Wednesday a public holiday in the state to welcome the president-elect, as it was his first visit to any state since his election.
Tinubu’s visit to Rivers State is seen as a move to strengthen his relationship with Wike and his supporters in the region. The president-elect has expressed his commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure the development and progress of the country.
