Nigerian singer Slimcase recently shed light on why Grammy-winning artist Wizkid often withholds his collaborative tracks. In an interview with Naija FM, Lagos, Slimcase explained that Wizkid meticulously reviews each song multiple times before deciding if it meets his high standards.
“When you make music with Wizkid, he will let you do your thing without any scrutiny, then in your absence, he can listen to the song like 50 times to know if the song meets his standard. That is why you see artists in the studio with Wizkid and the song never drops,” Slimcase shared.

This implies many collaborations with Wizkid remain unreleased. Slimcase, who worked with Wizkid on the 2018 track Gucci Snake, understands this firsthand. Recently, singer BNXN voiced similar frustrations, noting that despite frequent collaborations with emerging artists, many tracks never see the light of day.
Wizkid’s commitment to excellence, while occasionally frustrating for collaborators, underscores his dedication to maintaining the highest quality in his music releases.
