Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently presiding over the second National Economic Council, NEC, meeting at the Council Chambers, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The NEC, a crucial assembly, brings together the 36 governors of Nigeria, the Ministers responsible for finance, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mele Kyari (Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited), and several other notable figures.

The meeting, scheduled to commence promptly at 11 am, witnessed the early arrival of prominent attendees. Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, and Deputy Governor Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai of Enugu State were among the distinguished individuals who graced the Council Chamber ahead of the session.

The Council Chamber also welcomed the presence of Governor Inuwa Yahya from Gombe State, Governor Dauda Lawan from Zamfara, Governor Dikko Radda from Katsina, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak from Kwara, Dr. Alex Otti from Abia, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu from Lagos State.

Furthermore, the attendees included Senator Bala Mohammed from Bauchi, Senator Uba Sani from Kaduna State, Sheriff Obrevwori from Delta, Nasir Idris from Kebbi, Prof. Charles Soludo from Anambra, Godwin Obaseki from Edo, Deputy Governor David Onoja from Kogi State, Umaru Namadi from Jigawa State, Mai Mala Bunu from Yobe State, and Governor Duoye Diri from Bayelsa.

Other prominent figures present were Umo Eno from Akwa Ibom, Prince Bassey Otu from Cross River, Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from Ondo State, Governor Dapo Abiodun from Ogun State, Ahmad Aliu from Sokoto State, Caleb Mutfwang from Plateau State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia from Benue, Umo Eno from Akwa Ibom (again), and Senator Hope Uzodimma from Imo.
