The announcement was made on Tuesday during a special ceremony held at the state capital.

In a grand ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries, Governor Sanwo-Olu addressed the gathering, stating, “Members-elect, ladies, and gentlemen, in the exercise of the powers conferred on me, I hereby proclaim the 10th Assembly of the Lagos State House of Assembly.”

The Lagos State House of Assembly consists of a total of 40 members, representing various constituencies within the state. The All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party, holds a majority with 38 members, while the remaining two members belong to the Labour Party.

Following the inauguration, Mudashiru Obasa, the representative of the Agege 1 Constituency, secured his position as the speaker of the house for the sixth consecutive term.

Obasa’s re-election was supported and nominated by Temitope Adewale, the esteemed representative of the Ifako-Ijaiye 1 constituency.

This development comes just a few days after Governor Sanwo-Olu was sworn in for his second term in office at the historic Tafawa Balawa Square.

The Governor’s re-election and the subsequent proclamation of the 10th Assembly signal a new chapter in Lagos State’s governance, with the expectations of continued progress and development under the leadership of Governor Sanwo-Olu and the newly inaugurated House of Assembly.

The 10th Assembly is set to embark on its legislative duties, working collaboratively to address key issues, enact policies, and pass bills that will positively impact the lives of the residents of Lagos State. With a majority representation from the APC, the ruling party will have a significant role in shaping the legislative agenda and steering the state toward further growth and prosperity.

As Lagos State enters this new era of governance, residents eagerly await the outcomes and actions of the 10th Assembly, confident that their representatives will work diligently to uphold the interests of the people and continue to make Lagos State a shining example of progress in Nigeria.
