The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) voiced their displeasure over the results of the recent gubernatorial election on Wednesday. Demanding immediate action, the protesters insisted on the removal of the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).

Despite heavy security measures, the protesters were able to make their way through to the state INEC office. There, they called for a review of the election results and for the removal of the REC.

The Legal Adviser to the Kano State APC, Mr Abdullahi Fagge, presented a letter to the representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), outlining their grievances and demands. The letter called for a thorough review of the election process and outcome.

The representative of the REC, Mr Lawal Sani, who received the letter, assured the protesters that prompt action would be taken to address their concerns.

Meanwhile, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate, Yusuf Kabir, was declared the governor-elect on Monday, defeating the APC’s Nasir Gawuna in the election. The APC’s protest against the election results is a significant development that highlights the need for transparent and fair elections in Nigeria.
