Apple is offering a million dollars to anyone who can hack an iPhone.
The reward which sounds too good to be true is an expansion of the company’s giant bug bounty program.
The bug bounty program previously offered rewards of up to $200,000 for those who could find problems in iOS devices. It was first launched in 2016.
For the first time, the reward has been increased to $1 million. It has also been expanded to include all of Apple’s platforms (iOS, iCloud, tvOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and macOS).
All the hacker needs to do to get the million-dollar reward is to gain full control of an Apple device remotely, without the owner of the device ever interacting with it.
The announcement comes as data breaches become increasingly common in tech and financial industries.
