Vicente Fox, a former President of Mexico has been declared persona non grata and banned from Venezuela following an allegation of promoting violence and intervention by foreign world powers.
The announcement was made in series of tweets by Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Moncada. As a preventative measure to protect our people, Señor Fox will never again be able to come back to Venezuela, he wrote.
Fox had traveled to Venezuela on Saturday with some other Latin American former presidents to show support for the opposition referendum. Moncada offered no evidence to support his accusations.

The government condemned the referendum as illegal, and has instead called for a July 30 vote to elect a special assembly to rewrite the 1999 constitution.
