The family of the late High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, renowned Founder of DAAR Communications, has revealed the comprehensive burial arrangements for the distinguished entrepreneur.

High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, who was the owner of AIT and Ray Power FM radio stations, passed away on May 29, 2023. The Dokpesi family of Agenebode, Edo State, has shared the schedule for the funeral proceedings, aiming to honor and celebrate the legacy of the late media mogul.

According to the official announcement, the funeral activities will commence on June 19, 2023, with a day of tributes to be held at the prestigious International Conference Centre in Abuja, starting at 4:00 pm.

“The Dokpesi family cordially invites dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers to pay their respects and commemorate the memory of the visionary founder, Raymond Dokpesi.

“On the following day, June 20, a requiem mass will take place at the Church of the Assumption in Abuja, beginning at 12 noon. This religious service will provide a solemn occasion to celebrate the remarkable life and lasting legacy of the esteemed entrepreneur, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

“After the requiem mass, a reception will be hosted at the DAAR Villa, situated at 1 Ladi Lawal Drive, Asokoro, Abuja. This gathering will provide an opportunity for attendees to offer condolences and extend support to the grieving Dokpesi family.

“Subsequently, on June 21, the funeral procession will journey to Agenebode, the ancestral home of the Dokpesi family. At 5:00 pm, a Liturgy of Songs will be conducted at Ezomo’s Residence in Agenebode, allowing the local community to pay their final respects to the late Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

“The main funeral events will transpire on June 22. The day will commence with a funeral mass and interment at Ezomo’s Residence in Agenebode, beginning at 11:00 am.

“Esteemed family members, friends, and dignitaries will gather to bid a heartfelt farewell to the visionary founder of Daar Communication, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

“Following the interment, an entertainment program will be organized for the guests at the Ezomo’s Residence in Agenebode and St. Peter’s Secondary School, commencing at 2:00 pm.

“This occasion will serve as an opportunity for attendees to reminisce and cherish the remarkable contributions made by the late Chief Dokpesi to the media industry.

“Lastly, on June 24, a thanksgiving mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Agenebode, commencing at 9:00 am. This church service will bring the community together to express gratitude, offering prayers and thanks for the impactful life led by the late Daar Communication founder, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.

“The family of the late High Chief Raymond Dokpesi requests the presence and participation of all well-wishers in these funeral proceedings, as they honor the memory of a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the Nigerian media landscape.
