Elections 2019: Centre For Democracy And Development (CDD) Big Debate 2019

The stage is set! As the elections berth gradually with each passing day, political parties have been buying over the masses with manifestoes, promises and their plans for a new Nigeria. One way or another, Nigerians cannot get enough of these manifestoes and political parties must be on their toes to share their vision with the Nigerian people. Big Debate provides this platform.

About Big Debate

Big Debate is a platform aimed at bringing political parties together to share their visions and dreams with the citizens they intend to govern. The Big Debate platform allows these political parties to be engaged by Nigerians on issue-based campaigns ahead of the elections.

The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), the convener of Big Debate, is an International Organization established in the United Kingdom in 1997 with the purpose of serving as a catalyst and facilitator for strategic analysis and capacity building for sustainable democracy and development in West Africa. Her first activity was a roundtable organised in London in 1997 on the democratic future of Nigeria (then under military dictatorship).

Big Debate was more recently known as the Nigerian Political Parties Debate Series. CDD has always taken an active role in ensuring a truly democratic Nigeria. With elections knocking, The Centre has convened a series of debates around different campaign topics. Examples include corruption and accountability, economy, health etc.
