The Jajare Emir’s palace in Babangida headquarters of Tarmuwa local government of Yobe state. was reportedly  set ablaze by Boko Haram  during their attack on Saturday, October 5.

Insurgents burn down Emir place in Yobe

According to Daily Trust reports, a  resident says the insurgents were on a mission to eliminate the district head in a revenge mission.

The insurgents entered the town and headed straight to the emirs palace but the Emir had left the palace two hours before the arrival of the Boko Haram terrorists.

Upon arrival, the terrorists decided to burn a section of the palace stole the emir’s Hilux van. Villagers who came to the market were said to have scampered for their lives during the attack by the insurgents.

Reports state that some Boko Haram terrorists who were kidnapping residents for ransom had earlier been killed following intelligent report the emir gave security agents.

A resident identified as Idris Adamu, said that soldiers came from Dapchi an hour after the attack
