Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has emphasized that ethnicity and religion are not the problems affecting Nigeria’s development. The former Vice President conveyed this message in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, as part of his commemoration of this year’s Easter celebration.

Atiku urged Nigerians not to allow those who seek to divide them to pretend as if their problems are due to other ethnic or religious groups. He highlighted that Easter is a time for deep reflection as it signifies the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and his victory over death. The presidential candidate stressed that it is also a time to reach out to those in need and for everyone, irrespective of faith or ethnicity, to unite in prayer for the peace of the nation.

“We must all remain consistent in our efforts to promote unity, as our shared experiences bring us to the conclusion that no matter what the forces of evil can do, we, as Nigerians, united in doing good, can and shall prevail,” Atiku said.

The PDP candidate urged leaders at all levels to follow the virtues that defined the Easter season – sacrifice, love, and charity – and come together to help all Nigerians resolve the differences that divide them. He emphasized that Nigerians must collectively take responsibility for their challenges and work together to overcome them.

In conclusion, Atiku called on everyone to recognize the significance of Easter and use the occasion to recommit themselves to the ideals of peace, unity, and progress for Nigeria.
