In an effort to make amends after facing criticism for its delayed response to Kanye West’s antisemitic remarks, Adidas has announced that it will donate a portion of its upcoming Yeezy profits to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and other organizations combating discrimination and hate.

Adidas plans to sell off its remaining Yeezy inventory at the end of this month, with a significant amount of the proceeds being allocated to selected charities dedicated to fighting racism, antisemitism, and other forms of discrimination.

Among the beneficiaries will be the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change, an organization established by Philonise Floyd, the brother of George Floyd.

While the exact amount to be donated has not been disclosed, it is worth noting that approximately $1.3 billion worth of Yeezy products remains after Adidas severed ties with Kanye West in October.

Adidas faced criticism for its delayed response to West’s antisemitic tirades, including his controversial statement referring to “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” West also made contentious remarks regarding George Floyd’s tragic death in 2020.

After parting ways with West, Adidas attempted to sell the remaining Yeezy stock under a different name, without the Yeezy branding. However, this approach did not resonate with consumers.

Now, Adidas aims to boost its profits while also demonstrating a commitment to rectifying the situation and supporting the affected communities. The donation to the ADL and other anti-discrimination organizations reflects the company’s effort to contribute to a more inclusive and tolerant society.
