In what will be seen as a replica of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests in the United States, citizens of Zimbabwe are rising up against the authorities over unjustified killings in the African nation.
Among the stories which led to the protests is that of a man named Sipho Mncube who was allegedly murdered by Munya, the son of a High Court Judge, and his friends.
According to a Twitter user identified as Wellence Mujuru, Mncube’s throat was slit and his body was left to decompose in the bush while his killers easily got bail.
Another case is that of another individual, Robert Maphosa, who was reportedly shot in the back by a notorious soldier who “is still on taxpayers’ money”.
For the above and many other reasons, Zimbabweans are expressing their grievances, clashing with law enforcement agents as they protest the brutality in their country.
