Yul Edochie, a prominent Nollywood actor, has suffered a grievous loss as his first son, Kambilichukwu Edochie, passed away. The tragedy occurred at the Mother and Child Hospital in Lagos, where the young boy was rushed for emergency care. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Kambilichukwu passed away a few hours after admission.
Kambilichukwu was only 16 years old, having celebrated his birthday two months prior with Yul and his wife, Mary Edochie. His passing has left the family and the entire Nollywood community in shock and mourning.
Speaking about his late son, Yul Edochie described Kambilichukwu as a quiet, intelligent, and gifted child. He noted that the boy possessed a rare composure and did not let anger consume him, no matter the situation. Yul praised his son’s many accomplishments and talents, but also expressed his reluctance to see people excel too much in any one thing, as he believed that such people tend not to last long.
Yul Edochie revealed that his family had been praying fervently for Kambilichukwu ever since they received the news of his hospitalization. The actor was deeply saddened that his grandson had passed away at such a young age, just when he had shown so much promise for the future.
The news of Kambilichukwu’s passing has understandably left Yul and his first wife, May, grief-stricken and unable to speak publicly about the incident. The Nollywood community has rallied around the family, offering their condolences and support during this difficult time.
