A 35-year-old woman identified as Monsurat Olusanya has been arrested by Ogun state police for inflicting injuries with a hot knife on her 4-year-old niece , Fathia Ogundimu over a pot of soup.
A resident of Tiluwalase community, Owode Ijako had laid a complaint to Sango police division which followed her arrest.
The complainant who came along with the girl to report the case insisted on the police intervention before the girl dies from incessant abuse from her aunt.
Reports state that Fathia had allegedly poured a pot of soup before her aunt inflicted heavy bogy injuries on her and that Monsurat had also bitten the little girl on her stomach and lips.
Monsurat admitted to being responsible for the injuries after being interrogated and she pleaded with the police saying that it was the devil that pushed her.
The victim was taken to the hospital for medical treatment while the suspect is being detained at Sango Division.
Fathia’s biological parents were contacted to come and take custody of their daughter.
