Nigerian music star, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has stirred social media buzz after a video emerged of him telling a female fan that he is married with children. The incident occurred during the Grammy-winning artist’s ladies-only party in London on Tuesday.

In the viral video, Wizkid was surrounded by a crowd of female fans, with one woman getting particularly close to the singer. Wizkid paused during his performance to gently remind the fan not to get too close, saying, “Baby I’m a married man, don’t come close to me, I’m married, my kids are at home.”

The statement immediately generated diverse reactions across social media platforms, with some users feeling that Wizkid’s words might have been a subtle snub.

On X.com (formerly Twitter), a user identified as #iam_thowbie commented, “Why does this lowkey feel like a sub,” while another user, #dukeofunilag, tweeted, “Dis guy na w***y. He sub person finish con go enjoy himself.”

Some fans speculated that Wizkid’s comment might have been fueled by envy. User #nuggetman1_ wrote, “He’s just wishing he’s married like Davido,” referencing Wizkid’s colleague, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Another user, #lare_do1, humorously suggested that the singer might be switching careers, stating, “Wizkid wan switch to skit making. Nasboi don enter music.”

While some interpreted the statement as a playful remark, others praised Wizkid for standing by his principles. User #aone.ayo1 tweeted, “He’s a man of principles,” while #Majorsiz hinted at the possibility of Wizkid’s quiet marriage to his longtime manager, Jada Pollock, writing, “Man don marry Jada lowkey.”
