Omotola Jalade, a popular Nigerian actress, made a statement claiming that Nigerian entertainment was introduced to the world before the rise of Afrobeats.
Nigerian entertainment, particularly the Nigerian film industry, often referred to as Nollywood, has gained international recognition over the years for its prolific output and unique storytelling style. Nollywood movies have garnered a substantial following across Africa and have made significant strides in reaching a global audience.
The outstanding performances and role interpretation of the thespians endeared many movie lovers to them.
Taking to her Instagram page, Omotola shared some epic Nollywood films she featured in alongside Rita Dominic.
According to her, she and her colleagues broke barriers way before Afrobeat and introduced Nigerian entertainment to the world even when there were no social media.
