Blowback from the All Progressives Congress (APC) congresses continues as the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has accused Sen. Hope Uzodinma (APC, Imo) and Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume of seeking to destroy the party like they did to their former parties.

Okorocha also said both men are behind ethnic hate campaigns termed “abokiigbo” against him.

There were reports that police arrested one Mr. Ipanesie Innocent, said to be the Special Assistant to Senator Hope Uzodinma on Electoral Matters, and three others on allegations of possessing the result sheets of last week’s ward congress in Imo State.

Sam Onwuemeodo, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, revealed the allegations in a press statement where he declared that the governor would not distracted by the Senators.

He also accused Sen. Ararume of destroying the All Peoples’ Party following the accusations of financial misappropriation that trailed him as the Party’s Chairman in 1998.

Additionally, he mentioned that Sen. Ararume also sabotaged the Governorship of the former Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha.

“In 2015, he moved back to PDP. At the [primaries] of the party, Chief Emeka Ihedioha won by defeating him. He went to court against Ihedioha and was in court till the elections were conducted and won. It was during the supplementary election that he began to come closer to APC, to achieve his aim of destroying PDP finally,” he said.

Finally, the statement accused the duo of embarking on a malicious campaign against the governor, claiming “he was among those who called Governor Rochas Okorocha, Okoro-Hausa, Alhaji in Government House. And that Governor Okorocha would work with Muhammadu Buhari to Islamize Igboland. He was among those who accused Rochas of giving money to some Igbo Youths to be converted to Islam.”

Recall that Sen. Uzodinma recently defected from the PDP into the APC
