Hushpuppi’s dilemma continues as a US court judge denied his lawyer’s recent attempt to get him bail.
A report from National UAE reveals that the suspected internet fraudster’s attempt to get bail was stopped after his lawyer argued that he was able to afford his lavish lifestyle through his job as an Instagram influencer.
According to the lawyer, Hushpuppi was able to afford his $10,000 monthly rent for his Dubai apartment from the proceeds he got from social media gigs.
Trying to get Hushpuppi bail, the lawyer said that upon release, the suspect would be made to wear an electronic tag and will also be staying with a relative.
In the proceedings which took place via video link, the Instagram celebrity was denied bail by Judge Jeffrey Gilbert who stated that Hushpuppi posed too much of a flight risk and he would remain in custody until he is taken to a California court.
