Nigerians aren’t happy with the regulations on ride-hailing companies like Uber, Bolt, and others.
Recall that we reported that the Lagos State government has issued new guidelines on the operations of Uber, Bolt, taxicab services, and others.
Reacting to the new development, Twitter users are expressing dissatisfaction and anger.

The message is quite clear. They want Uber, Taxify and other e-cab hailing services to leave. All the terms and conditions are just a smokescreen to cover their ulterior motives. They'll gradually roll out Eko Cabs to fill the market void after their competitors leave.

Lagos State can just tell Uber and Taxify to leave Lagos with their Chest. All the Shalaye is not necessary.

Now, @followlasg has just requested that all operators of e-hailing taxi services must give the Ministry access to their database asides other requirements and the revelation of the new license & renewal fees.

From August 20, Online car hailing business (Uber, Bolt) must pay Lagos state NGN 10 million for every 1,000 cars. Annual renewal fee is NGN 5 million.
10% of EVERY transaction paid by every passenger will be collected by Lagos State.

Lmao if I buy a brand new Corolla at N15m for Uber, it will take me 7 years and 2 months to get my money back. Minus depreciation, maintenance, repairs and insurance.
