Two Men Docked For ‘Sodomy’ And Public Nuisance In Lagos

Two Nigerian men identified as Promise Oluwabunkenoye and Kehinde Abiola, on Wednesday June 14, appeared before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly indulging in ana~l intercourse.

The accused – Oluwabunkenoye, 24, and Abiola, 29 – whose addresses are unknown, are facing two counts of having $exual intercourse and fighting in the public.

According to NAN, the duo pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Police Prosecutor, Sgt . Anthonia Osayande, told the court that the accused, with others still at large, committed the offences at City Centre Hotel at Ijeshatedo, Surulere, at about 3 pm on June 1.
Osayande said the accused were caught by a police patrol team fighting publicly over non-payment of money for $exual acts.

She alleged that while the police interrogated them, one of the accused confessed that he was invited to a hotel in Ejigbo on May 28 at about 5 am for ana! $ex.

He said the man promised to pay him some money if he consented to the act, but the accused refused to pay after enjoying himself, the prosecutor added.

She noted that the offences contravened sections 54 and 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised ).

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ipaye Nwachukwu, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N 100,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

She ordered that the accused should submit their passport photographs to the court’s registrar.
Nwachukwu said one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the accused, while the other must be a cleric or a community leader.

The magistrate added that the sureties should provide evidence of tax payment to the government.
She adjourned the case till August 3 for a mention.
