Top 4 Nigerian Music Producers That Are Proven Singers

Not everyone in the music business has a name out there, they are actually people behind the scenes always cooking those great music hits we applaud. The backbone as we might like to call them, are always the music producers as they accentuate music tracks with their unique production sound. Now we reviewing the top 4 Nigerian music producers who are also proven singers. The list isn’t that long ’cause we focusing on the contemporary era.

4 Selebobo

A name we quite familiar with, made popular by Yemi Alade for her “Johnny” song.
Born Udoka Chigozie Oku, Selebobo is one of the few that have evolved in the last couple of years successfully as a music producer and a singer in the music industry.
He got his footing on the record imprint, Made Men Music Group where he produced hits for Iyanya and Tekno. Selebobo produced Tekno’s “Rara” and “Where“.

Selebobo dived into his own sound to show us his singing skills. He was heavy on Yemi Alade’s “Nagode” and we weren’t so convinced until he dropped more couple of singles including “Tonyor” featuring Peter Okoye of P Square.

3 Demmie Vee

He’s probably the latest to have evolved in this setting. I mean no one ever thought the music producer had such singing skills. Demmie Vee’s first impression was huge with the song “Awesome God” where he featured 2Baba. He has a trending single out there titled “Love Me Tender”, the song is currently gaining massive airplay.

2. Maleek Berry

It’s a well-known fact this dude shares a strong bond with Wande Coal and little with Wizkid. Almost every sound Maleek Berry bounced on became a hit. He’s successful as a music producer being the soundpiece behind Wizkid’s superhit, “The Matter” and several Wande Coal’s songs including “Kilaju” and recently, “Ballerz“.

Maleek Berry music exploration wasn’t experimental in anyway. He did it like he was ready for it. Dropping his Last Daze Of Summer EP with almost all the tracks becoming hits. Kontrol, Eko Miami are few proven tracks

1. Cobhams Asuquo

He’s legendary on this list. Highly respected for his deep conceptualization when it comes to creating R&B sounds. Cobhams, like fine wine, season and time got nothing on him. Asa, Timi Dakolo are his regulars and he doesn’t misfire his missile on their sounds. The R&B singer and music producer had always keep up with his production and singing not lagging behind in any. He recently dropped his debut album “For You” after so many years and the tracks are way too powerful. “Empty” is one song in the buzz right now.
