Ogun State Police and So-Safe Corps Collaborate to Capture Felony Suspect

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a suspect identified as Afolabi Taiwo in the Abioro community, Sango, within the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state, on charges of attempting to commit a felony.

According to Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the command, the incident transpired on November 1, 2023, when Afolabi forcibly entered the premises of the complainant in Abioro Street. The police, with assistance from the So-Safe Corps, promptly arrested Afolabi after his alleged attempt to carry out the criminal act.

The complainant’s timely alarm alerted the neighbors, leading to Afolabi’s apprehension at the scene of the incident. Subsequently, during his interrogation, Afolabi confessed to being a member of the prohibited Eiye Confraternity Cult Group, revealing that he had been initiated into the cult in 2020 in Ajah, Lagos State.

Odutola emphasized the significance of this revelation, as it enables the police to gather additional intelligence and expedite efforts to apprehend other individuals implicated by Afolabi’s statement.

She praised the collaborative operation between the police and the So-Safe Corps, which resulted in Afolabi’s arrest and thwarted his alleged criminal intentions. Odutola stressed that the capture of the suspect marks a positive step in the ongoing campaign against criminal activities in the region.
