Social Media Influencer, Bhadoosky Arrested In Ibadan, Transferred To Akure
Hakeem Badmus (Bhadooky)

Popular Nigerian Social Media influencer, Hakeem Badmus, better known as Bhadoosky has been picked up by the Police in Ibadan and transferred almost immediately to Akure on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

Bhadoosky’s arrest has been linked to a tweet he posted in July about a certain school that published a student’s name as debtor for not paying N5,000 parting gift fee to the school upon graduation.

The tweet that got Bhadooky arrested

The school that ordered his arrest has been identified as Great Cornerstone International Science College in Ondo state.

According to Bhadoosky who was tweeting updates of his arrest, his wife had called him in the earlier to meet him at UI gate without giving any reason. On getting there, he found her in the company of about five police officers and he was arrested.

Bhadooky was first taken to Mokola and he was transferred to Akure without further delay where the school that ordered his arrest is based.

Bhadoosky’s wife, Mariam, narrated how the arrest happened in her series of tweets. She wrote:

So a guy called telling me I had something to pick up at post office but they are bringing it to me. He asked us to meet at UI gate; I’d just dropped Faridah at school so I told him no problem.

He called some minutes later that there’s a little traffic at the road leading to Ojoo so I should cross over to that road to wait for him. I obliged

I crossed over and waited at the other side. Some minutes later, he called again and I saw him at my back; he asked my name and my phone number. I verified both for him. He then introduced himself and 2 other men that were officers of @PoliceNG

So they asked if I knew Bhadmus Habdulakeem and I told them he’s my husband. They then asked me to call him to meet us at UI gate. I did that and just managed to sneak a text that it’s the police

He came around, asked what the issue is and they said we would know when we get to the station. When we got there, they told us it’s from Akure they came to arrest him

They were so unreasonable and wanted to start harassing him. So he agreed to follow them to Akure when the DCO at Mokola station asked him to follow them. Sadly I couldn’t even think to get their plate no or snap the car because I was just confused

I’ve picked Faridah from school and now heading to Akure with @BabajideFadoju . Will try to update everyone. Thank you so much for your love

Following up the situation, Babajide Fadoju, a digital practitioner and colleague of Bhadooky said:

I got to the Police Station and found out that they just left to Akure despite pleas from the DCO In charge of the station. I met with the DPO, he said the CID guys from Akure came with documents of authorization for @Bhadoosky ‘s arrest. Sadly I got here as they left.

Sad thing about all these is that this case could have been solved here under the jurisdiction here in Oyo State, but the CID guys were extremely unreasonable and bent on making this whole thing unpleasant.

He could have been questioned here. Right here in the police station in Mokola, Ibadan. Why take him far away to Ondo if you can achieve same result here. I am with Mrs Bhadoosky to pick their daughter. I guess Akure is the next point of call. This matter will be solved.

Taking him to Akure is just to frighten and intimidate Bhadoosky. Please note the policemen or CID are NOT from Oyo State. Most of the Policemen under Commissioner under Commissioner Abiodun Odude are reasonable and logical. Thanks

The last update received from Bhadoosky at about 11.40am:

The hashtag #FreeBhadoosky has been up on Twitter trend to campaign against the supposed injustice and unfair treatment.
