Ronaldinho’s days of confinement in Paraguay have come to an end.
The Brazilian and his brother have been released from house arrest in Paraguay on Monday after 6 months in custody for traveling into the country with fake passports.
According to media reports, the siblings will fly back to Rio de Janeiro in a private plane today.
Charges against 40-year-old Ronaldinho and his brother were dropped by a judge who suspended them after the duo struck a plea bargain with prosecutors.
The soccer icon and hos brother Assis spent over a month in prison before they were relocated to the four-star Palmaroga Hotel after paying $1.6 million in bail.
Ronaldinho and Assis denied any wrongdoing, saying that they were presented with the passports as a “gift” upon arrival in Asuncion.
