Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has revealed that he co-wrote several hit songs for fellow artist Wizkid during their time at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME). In a recent appearance on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Skales discussed his contributions to Wizkid’s debut album Super Star, specifically mentioning the bonus track “Wiz Party.”

Reflecting on their time together at EME, Skales explained that their collaboration was a result of teamwork within the label. “Back in EME, we were a team, so we used to write songs for each other. He wrote ‘Mukulu’ for me, and I wrote his song ‘Wiz Party,’” Skales said, highlighting the mutual support they provided each other during their early careers.

Both Skales and Wizkid were among the first artists to sign with EME, a label founded by R&B singer and music executive Banky W in the early 2010s. The label played a crucial role in launching their careers, catapulting both artists to fame. However, both eventually parted ways with EME after disagreements with Banky W over contractual terms.

In an earlier interview, Banky W disclosed that Wizkid had been contracted to deliver three albums to EME, hinting at some tension surrounding the terms of his departure from the label.
