Oyo StateAccording to a statement by YSO Olaniyi, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Senator Teslim Folarin, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Folarin has maintained that he will not yield to the blackmail of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, including Deputy National Chairman Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.

Folarin, in the statement, noted that his broad support from the people of the state has put Arapaja and other PDP chieftains under immense pressure. He further stated that the people of Oyo State are tired of the maladministration of the PDP-led government in the state.

He went on to say, “As a democrat and a responsible statesman in Oyo State, I will not engage in blackmail, propaganda, or irresponsible attacks on any politician.

However, I want to assure the people of Oyo State that Taofeek Arapaja is feeling the heat due to the flood of endorsements in my favor and the continuous exodus from the ruling PDP and other opposition parties in the state.”

Folarin added, “No amount of blackmail, propaganda, or irresponsible attacks from Mr. Arapaja and his co-travelers can save Engr. Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates from an inevitable defeat in the March 18th elections.”

Folarin emphasized that he remains the most experienced public administrator and closest to the grassroots, having represented Oyo Central Senatorial District for three terms with a track record of achievements and having toured 351 wards of Oyo State countless times.

He stated that his campaign is centered on holistically improving the security, education, agriculture, health, empowerment, and employment of the state’s youths and women, as well as growing the economy, improving the welfare of civil servants and pensioners, ensuring local government autonomy, urban renewal, rural development, a clean environment, and wealth creation.

Folarin expressed his belief that he has the capacity to do better than the current administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde, and he urged the people of Oyo State not to be swayed by cheap blackmail or propaganda.

In conclusion, Folarin urged the people of Oyo State to vote en masse for the APC in the coming Saturday elections, stating that a vote for the APC is a vote for Itesiwaju Ipinle Oyo.
