Resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu Shakes APC Leadership

Former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has tendered his resignation as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant development in the Nigerian political landscape.

Senator Adamu formally submitted his resignation letter to the Presidential Villa over the weekend. The letter was received at the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, symbolizing the acknowledgment of his decision at the highest level.

To announce his departure as APC National Chairman, a crucial meeting of the National Working Committee has been scheduled for today at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. During this gathering, Senator Adamu is expected to make a formal announcement about his resignation, bringing an end to his tenure as the party’s helmsman.

In addition to this internal development, the APC has also planned meetings of its statutory organs to discuss party affairs and chart the way forward. The national caucus and the National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings have been slated for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, respectively. These crucial gatherings were postponed last week due to the unavailability of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was attending an important meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Guinea-Bissau.

With Senator Adamu’s resignation as the National Chairman, the APC will now face the task of electing a new leader to guide the party through the ever-changing political landscape. The party’s members and supporters eagerly await the outcome of the upcoming meetings and the subsequent leadership transition within the All Progressives Congress.
