Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended warm congratulations to his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

As Ambode marks this milestone on Wednesday, June 14, Governor Sanwo-Olu conveyed his heartfelt wishes through a message issued by his Media Adviser, Mr. Gboyega Akosile.

Governor Sanwo-Olu hailed Ambode as an accomplished administrator whose exemplary contributions as the former Accountant-General and Governor of Lagos State have significantly propelled the growth and development of the region.

In his statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his felicitations on behalf of his beloved wife, Ibijoke, the government, and the good people of Lagos State.

He also extended his congratulations to the family, friends, and political associates of his esteemed predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

“Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode dedicated his youth and adult years in the service of Lagos State, first as a civil servant and later as the 14th Governor of our beloved Lagos State,” Governor Sanwo-Olu remarked.

He further highlighted Ambode’s distinguished career path, stating, “As Council Treasurer, Auditor General for Local Government, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, and Accountant-General of Lagos State, he consistently displayed a remarkable level of integrity, dedication, and professionalism in the public sector.”

“He recorded the same achievements as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and as the State’s Accountant General.

“He also made positive and significant impacts in some sectors during his tenure as Lagos State Governor, working for the continuous growth and development of our State.

In concluding his message, Governor Sanwo-Olu wished the former Governor a joyous birthday celebration and offered prayers for his good health and many more fruitful years ahead.

Akinwunmi Ambode served as the Governor of Lagos State from 2015 to 2019 before his term concluded on May 29, 2019, and Governor Sanwo-Olu assumed office.
