My Salary Is Not Up To 150k - Aliyu Giwa

DSP Aliyu Giwa, the most popular Nigerian police officer in the social media space dropped the bomb yesterday when he said his salary is not up to N150,000.

Aliyu Giwa on Thursday, November 22 at the Lagos Digital Summit which held at NECA House, Ikeja made some shocking revelations about what is happening within the Nigeria Police Force. Being a guest speaker at the summit, Giwa shared the wonderful story of how he turned from being a social critic to a Police Officer.

Bursting our bubbles, Giwa responded to comment that blasted him for trying to defend the Nigeria Police. ‘Let me now burst your bubbles, my salary is not even up to 150,000 naira. It cost a lot to maintain my uniform, let alone other things’, he said.

According to the DSP, he was a vibrant critic of the Nigerian Police, he had written worst articles bashing the force with his Magazine publications and social media engagement. However, the story changed the moment he was called to the force after reluctantly picking up the form. He was convinced by his mom to pursue his new path of career.

Finally standing up to his decision, he changed from criticizing the police to creating a positive image. He suffered several backlashes from his Facebook friends who never knew he had joined the Police Force. As a result, he sourced for a new social environment to reflect the positivity, hence, Instagram became the place.

Right now, he’s a sensation on Instagram creating a positive image of the Police Force.
