Suspected armed robbers on Tuesday, attacked the convoy of the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, killing five police officers.
The attack occurred around 4 pm when the Deputy Governor was on his way back from Abuja to the state capital, Lafia. He narrowly escaped unhurt.
The robbers, who laid an ambush, killed the policemen and took their rifles.
