#RevolutionNow: We Will Contend Court Order For Sowore’s Detention – AAC

The legal adviser to the African Action Congress, Inibehe Effiong, has said that the party will contend the 45-day detention order against #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore.

Mr. Effiong disclosed that the AAC would file an application before the court to seek an order to vacate its decision on the human rights activist.

“We are saddened by the decision of the court because our position remains that the basis for which Sowore was arrested is not tenable in the law.

Even at that, if you have already convicted him in the media, why do you need either 90 or 45 days to investigate again?”

The Federal High Court in Abuja had on Thursday, August 8, 2019, granted the DSS request to detain Omoyele Sowore for 45days.

The Buhari administration has come under fire following Sowore’s arrest, with many saying that the former presidential candidate had only exercised his rights as a citizen.
