Sheikh Iskil Awwal Calls for Special Prayers for President-elect Tinubu and Nigeria’s Advancement

Sheikh Iskil Awwal, the Wakeelu Muslimeen of SouthWest, Edo, and Delta States, has called upon all Imams and Alfas across the country to conduct special prayers during the Jumat service (Friday prayer) for the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and the nation as a whole.

In an address delivered on Thursday in Abeokuta, the religious leader emphasized the significance of this special prayer session, highlighting that it aims to invoke divine blessings for President Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu, and the overall progress of Nigeria.

As previously announced, Tinubu is scheduled to be inaugurated as the President on Monday, May 29, 2023, following his victory in the polls held on February 25, 2023.

“In order to advance Nigeria’s progress, I implore all Muslims, particularly Imams and Alfas, to partake in a special prayer for Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, and the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. May God guide Nigeria towards becoming a better nation,” Sheikh Iskil Awwal conveyed.

He emphasized the dire need for peace in Nigeria, emphasizing that no country can thrive amidst hardship and conflict. The Sheikh called for fervent prayers to be offered for peace and progress within the nation, especially considering the impending tenure of Bola Tinubu.

“We should beseech God for peace to prevail in Nigeria during the term of Bola Tinubu. Hence, I urge all Imams, Alfas, and Muslims across the country to come together and coordinate this special prayer, particularly within the South West states. Our goal is to propel the nation forward and transform Nigeria into a prosperous country, blessed with abundant fortunes,” Sheikh Iskil Awwal stated.

The call for special prayers from Sheikh Iskil Awwal has garnered significant attention and support within the Muslim community. Imams and Alfas are expected to heed the call and lead their congregations in offering these prayers during the Jumat service, dedicated to President Muhammadu Buhari, President-elect Bola Tinubu, and the overall development of Nigeria.
