Recall that the governor lost his senatorial bid in the February 25 poll to Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Ortom who is rounding off his second term as governor is the PDP candidate for the Benue north-west.

While Ortom polled 106,882 votes, Zam had 143,151 votes, and Mark Gbillah, the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, garnered 51,950 votes.

He revealed that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has concluded plans to challenge the outcome of the elections.

Ortom stated this on Wednesday in Makurdi, while commissioning roads constructed with ecological funds in the North Bank area of Makurdi.

He disclosed that the sum of N500 million was expended on the roads which he named after the first Ter Makurdi, Dennis Hirnyam saying the late Ter Makurdi contributed immensely to the peace of Makurdi and Benue state.

Ortom noted that the end is yet to be seen concerning elections in the state and urged the people to do the needful by ensuring that they vote for the PDP to remain in power.

“Am very high in my spirit you have not seen the end of the election. The election was rigged electronically, clinically, and scientifically. Our lawyers are studying it critically.

“You must do the needful in the coming election. For continuity and peace to reign, you must vote Uba.”

“However, I am not angry at anyone who may not have voted for me in the election. But I want to let you know that it is not over yet.

“My party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is ready to challenge the outcome of the elections at the tribunal.

“My party has already contacted her lawyers and they are looking at the results with a view to approaching the tribunal, and I am confident that the party will recover all her stolen mandates.”
