Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has been declared the President-elect of Nigeria by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has pledged to bring joy to Nigerians regardless of their political affiliations.
In his acceptance speech titled “The Era of Renewed Hope,” which he delivered at the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council secretariat in Abuja, he thanked INEC for conducting a free and fair election. Tinubu is set to receive his Certificate of Return with Vice-President-elect Senator Kashim Shettima at the Independent National Electoral Commission Collation Centre in the International Conference Centre.
President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated Tinubu on his election victory and acknowledged the irregularities that occurred during the election. Tinubu, in his speech, stated that the electoral process will improve over time, and he commended other presidential candidates for their belief in democracy. He also stated that he would be willing to run an inclusive government but cautioned aggrieved candidates and their supporters to seek legal recourse in the Court of law rather than take to the streets. Tinubu expressed his gratitude to Almighty God and pledged to lead the nation to the greatness He alone has destined for it.
