The concert, which took place at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Thursday, featured performances from renowned artists including Buju, Brymo, Fireboy, Asake, Naira Marley, Tony Tetuila, Seyi Vibez, and many others.

In a video posted on his Instagram page on Friday, the controversial singer expressed his disappointment at being excluded from the list of artists at the concert. He revealed that he had been offered N5 million out of the N10 million budgeted for his performance, but he deemed such a deal unacceptable, leading to his absence from the event.

In the video, Portable called out the concert organizers, claiming that he had campaigned vigorously for Tinubu before his election. He expressed his frustration, stating, “They have ripped me off. I am the one who sang ‘Akoi Tinubu.’ Wasn’t it for Tinubu you all voted? Tinubu has entered now, and those useless people are the ones performing. Wasn’t it me who promoted Tinubu?”

In the caption accompanying the videos, he further wrote, “They have ripped me off. I am the one who sang ‘Akoi Tinubu.’ Give what belongs to ZAZUU to ZAZUU.”

Portable’s revelation has sparked discussions among fans and followers, with many expressing support for his decision and questioning the fairness of the deal offered to him.

The ‘Renewed Hope’ concert aimed to commemorate the forthcoming inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu and celebrate his political achievements. However, Portable’s absence from the event has drawn attention to the complexities and negotiations involved in artist performances at such gatherings.
