Nigerian street singer, Habeeb Okikiola, who is popularly known as Portable, is basking in the euphoria of achieving 10 million song streams on Boomplay, a popular music streaming platform.
Portable took to his Instagram page to share a video of himself jubilating over the new feat, which he described as a milestone achievement.
In the video, he displayed the award he received from Boomplay and expressed his appreciation to his fans, colleagues, and collaborators.
The singer said he is particularly grateful to Olamide and Poco Lee for featuring in his hit song, ‘Zazuu Zeh’, which shot him into fame. He acknowledged that his success in the music industry is remarkable, considering that he did not attend school.
“Earlier today I got my awards of 10 million song streams from @boomplaymusic @boomplaynigeria streams is about 65 million song streams. Thank you,” Portable wrote on Instagram.
It will be recalled that Portable gained widespread popularity after the release of his song “Zazu Zeh” in December 2021, where he featured rapper, singer, and songwriter, Olamide and dancer, Iwe Pascal, popularly known as Poco Lee.
The song received massive airplay across the country and beyond, earning the singer a place among the most sought-after artists in the music industry.
Portable’s success story is an inspiration to many young people who are struggling to make a name for themselves in the music industry, especially those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
