Georgia police have arrested Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, for allegedly choking his girlfriend, who is pregnant, during an argument about a paternity test. The incident reportedly took place on December 20, 2022, at their home where they had been living since July 2022.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ, the woman claimed that Playboi Carti grabbed her by the throat, pushed her, and held her neck until she almost passed out.
The victim reported that she believed she was going to die during the incident. When the woman was finally able to escape, she ran to her car where she claimed that he attacked her again.
The alleged victim had visible injuries to her neck, chest, and back when the police arrived. Playboi Carti was arrested for felony aggravated assault.
The victim said that the argument started when she wanted to discuss the paternity test with him. The altercation allegedly turned physical, and a witness tried to intervene.
Playboi Carti’s lawyer, Brian Steel, claimed that his client was falsely accused and that the case would be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.
