Peter Mbah, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emerged victorious in the Enugu governorship election with a total of 174,289 votes. His closest competitor, Barr Chijioke Edeoga of the LP, garnered 157,542 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mbah the winner over the other contestants.

The collation process had been paused since the previous night due to issues surrounding votes from Nkanu East LGA. However, upon resumption of the collation, PDP supporters had staged a protest due to the delay in the final announcement of the results.

Mbah’s victory marks a significant milestone for the PDP in Enugu State. The newly elected governor will have the task of implementing policies that will improve the lives of the people and further the development of the state. It is hoped that he will use his position to promote peace, progress, and prosperity in Enugu.
