The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a certificate of return to Ademola Adeleke the winner of the just concluded Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke received the certificate of return on Wednesday at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo, Osun State.
Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was announced the winner of the election on Sunday.
He emerged the winner of the Osun governorship election with 403,371 votes.
Adeleke polled the highest vote to beat his major contender, Governor Gboyega Oyetola who polled 375,027, and Action Democratic Party (ADP) Kehinde Atanda as the second runner-up.
In his acceptance speech, Adeleke commended INEC for the conduct of the elections, while appreciating the good people of Osun for trusting him with their votes.
