Owo Community Joins Hands in Prayer for Governor Akeredolu’s Speedy Recovery

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oladiji Olamide, has called on the people of Ondo State and beyond to refrain from spreading rumors about the health of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Instead, he urged them to intensify prayers for the governor’s quick recovery. Rt. Hon. Olamide made this appeal during a prayer session held at St. Andrew Cathedral Church in Owo.

Addressing the attendees at the intervention program, the Speaker expressed his belief that the governor would come back stronger and continue working for the progress of the state and the welfare of its people. He reassured the public not to lose hope and emphasized that all would be well with Governor Akeredolu.

Several prayer sessions were conducted by clergymen, seeking divine intervention for the governor’s restoration of sound health and speedy recovery. Among those who advocated for continued support and prayers for Governor Akeredolu was the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ondo, Most Rev. Jude Arogundade.

Speaking during the rededication ceremony of St. Francis Catholic Church in Owaluwa, Owo, Bishop Arogundade commended the governor for his efforts in providing solace to the people of Owo, the Catholic Church, and the families affected by the tragic massacre that occurred last year. The ceremony was part of a weeklong series of activities commemorating the one-year anniversary of the incident, which resulted in the loss of 41 church worshippers and several others sustaining injuries.

Bishop Arogundade also acknowledged Governor Akeredolu’s unwavering determination to seek justice for the victims and their families following the terrorist attack on the Catholic Church on June 5. He praised the governor’s personal commitment and willingness to go to great lengths, even at the risk of his position, to fight for justice.

Expressing his gratitude, the Bishop stated, “I am thankful to him because he took the attack personally. He was willing to do anything, even risking his position, to fight for justice. When it comes to compassion and doing what is right, there is no state like Ondo State.” Bishop Arogundade also extended his appreciation to the members of the Relief Fund Management Committee of the State government for their dedicated efforts in assisting the victims.

Furthermore, the Bishop commended Governor Akeredolu for the establishment of the magnificent Memorial Park, which stands as a testament to the State’s acknowledgment of the value and sanctity of human life.

As the prayers for Governor Akeredolu’s health and recovery continue, the people of Ondo State unite in solidarity, hoping for his swift return to continue leading the state towards progress and prosperity.
