US filmmaker Tyler Perry recently revealed that he was the victim of child abuse in a shocking revelation that saw him open up about attempting suicide.
Perry also claimed that his alcoholic father physically abused him severally as a young boy. He found out that his dad wasn’t his biological father just nine years ago.
The black American actor told reporters from People Magazine that his father once beat him so severely with a vacuum that the skin on his back had been ripped off. He further disclosed that he was sexually abused three times before he clocked 10, explaining that it was rape although he didn’t know what it was at the time but just moved through it.
Perry stated that his mother, Maxine, had once tried to flee the house but his father had alerted the police with a report that the car had been stolen.
