After Governor Dapo Abiodun’s re-election in the state of Ogun, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) chapter in the state has called on the Governor not to go back on his promises to the people. The NUT urged the Governor to view his re-election into office for a second term as an opportunity to do more and serve the people dutifully. They also stated that the Governor’s re-election was a “divine arrangement”.

In a congratulatory letter signed by the State Chairman, Abiodun Akinola, and Secretary, Samson Oyelere, and made available to the press in Abeokuta on Thursday, the NUT assured the current administration of their unwavering support towards achieving notable accomplishments that would further leave a lasting impression on the people.

The letter further read: “Your impacts and efforts to satisfy those who could not see beyond their personal gains have been rewarded by God Almighty. The union implores you to see this victory as a call to do more and serve the people diligently.”

The NUT’s call to the Governor to remain committed to his promises and to serve the people with diligence is an essential reminder of the need for leaders to be accountable and responsible to their constituents. It is hoped that Governor Abiodun will heed the union’s advice and work tirelessly to improve the lives of the people of Ogun state.
