Actress Says False Accusations and Financial Struggles Followed Separation from Ex-Husband Jago
Nollywood actress Ronke Odusanya has publicly addressed the circumstances surrounding her split from ex-husband Saheed Olarewaju, popularly known as Jago. In a candid interview with fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, Odusanya recounted the alleged rumors and accusations that contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.
According to Odusanya, a close friend falsely claimed to Jago that she was planning to leave the marriage to engage in prostitution and had supposedly spent a night with a senator while accompanied by their daughter, Fife. The actress revealed her shock when Jago confronted her with these allegations.
“A friend of mine told my partner that I wanted to leave him and go into prostitution. That I went to sleep in a Senator’s house with our daughter, Fife,” Odusanya explained. “My mouth was left open when he told me.”
Odusanya said she was able to counter the accusations, providing proof of her whereabouts that night. “God gave me grace because I did video recording of the time and date on my phone. I recorded it when we got to where we would sleep,” she shared, noting that her ex eventually realized he had been misled.
Reflecting on the emotional and financial toll of the separation, Odusanya recounted losing valuable belongings and facing significant financial hardship. “I had nothing when we separated; all my jewelry was taken away, and I fainted. I was wondering where to start,” she said. The actress also shared that she had less than ₦10,000 in her account at the time and struggled to find a place to stay.
