Ahead of the looming strike from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Plateau State chapter of the Union has stated its readiness to join the planned nationwide action should talks between the Federal Government and labour unions break down.

The Council Chairman, Mr Eugene Manji, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Jos, revealing that they had been directed by the national leadership to be ready if the meeting with the government over the implementation of the new minimum wage fails to go their way.

We are on standby and in readiness for action. We have fully mobilized our affiliate unions and we are all waiting for the next directive from the national leadership on the outcome of the meeting.

I can assure you that Plateau Council is ready to comply with any directive handed down by the national body.Eugene Manji
