Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele in a recent interview with Hip TV shared her opinion about Nigerians who try to stick to foreign accents.
She urged Nigerians to be authentic and stop mimicking the British and Americans,
“A lot of us want to sound like the British, we forget our culture, our country and accent, we are under a common law, the English law, we can speak good English, pronounce properly. but i don’t believe in all this foreign accents. When you are not born or raise in UK, you want to be British, when you are not born and raised in America, you are trying to be American. Just be you” she said.
