Nigerian writer and lawyer Reno Omokri has commented on the incessant killings and kidnappings in the northern part of the country.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Mr. Omokri disclosed how a DSS officer was kidnapped in Katsina and his ransom paid.
He compared the incident to that of a pastor who is supposed to deliver his members from Satan, begging demons for mercy.
Omokri said that despite the fact that the ransom was paid for the DSS officer, he was still killed by the kidnappers, adding that though it was hard to believe, Nigerians pay taxes to bandits.
He mentioned feeling sorry for the DSS operatives “harassing” former CBN governor Obadiah Mailaifa who was trying to expose the same persons responsible for the kidnappings and killings.
His words:
“A DSS officer was kidnapped in Katsina and a ransom was paid. Let this sink in. This is like a pastor, who is meant to deliver you from Satan, begging demons for mercy. They paid, yet the man was still killed. Believe it or not, in parts of Nigeria, Nigerians pay taxes to bandits! And yet, as you read this, DSS officers are harassing Obadiah Mailafia.
I feel sorry for them. Obadiah Mailafia is trying to expose the people behind those that are now kidnapping and killing even DSS officers. Yet these very same DSS officers are harassing him. How many of the DSS officers now harassing Mailafia can go to their villages and sleep without security?”
