NiDCOM Chairman resolves logistics issue for Nigerians in Sudan

According to recent reports, Nigerians who were being transported from Sudan amidst conflict have continued their journey after a temporary stop. The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, made this announcement on Thursday in response to a crisis that occurred due to logistics issues.

Dr Ahmad Small, a Twitter user, had earlier posted a video of a woman and other passengers lamenting about being stuck in the desert for five hours because they had not been paid. However, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa promptly contacted the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to resolve the matter.

In a swift response, the NiDCOM boss announced on Twitter that the buses had resumed their journey, and the issue had been resolved. She wrote, “I have just spoken to @nemanigeriadg. He confirmed the buses have continued their journey and said whatever issues have been resolved.”

It is essential to prioritize the safety and well-being of Nigerians in diaspora, especially during times of crisis. We commend the NiDCOM and NEMA for their prompt actions in resolving the issue, and we hope for a safe and peaceful journey for the Nigerian citizens in transit.
