Njoku Denies Theft Allegations, Demands Apology From Actress
Francis Njoku, an Indrive cab driver accused of stealing a package, has threatened to sue Nollywood actress Adunni Ade over what he claims is a false accusation tarnishing his reputation.
The dispute between the two arose when Adunni Ade publicly alleged that Njoku had failed to deliver a package meant for her after ending a trip early. In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Adunni called out the ride-hailing company Indrive, accusing Njoku of taking off with her package and refusing to pick up her calls.
“@indrive.ng I have contacted you for hours but no response. One of your drivers has stolen my package. He ended the trip before getting to me and not picking up calls,” she wrote.
Her post quickly gained attention, with many users criticizing both the driver and the ride-hailing company. However, in a follow-up post, Adunni revealed that Njoku eventually delivered the package after Indrive locked his profile. She also shared screenshots of her conversations with Njoku and her fashion designer, who had sent the package.
The screenshots revealed that Njoku was displeased with the accusations and threatened to take legal action. “You have made nonsense of my image, and I have contacted my legal team. We will see you in court. You must render an unreserved apology and ask Instablog to pull the post down,” Njoku wrote, claiming that he was wrongly accused and that many human rights lawyers had reached out to support him.
Responding to Njoku’s threat, Adunni Ade remained defiant, stating, “One thing about me is I don’t lie nor cheat my fellow beings. When we speak of change, let it start with you. In my whole adult life of ordering and delivering or using services of logistic companies, I have never encountered anyone as rude, ill-mannered, arrogant, uncivilized, and entitled as Francis Njoku.“
